mountains in the streets!
over a snowy stile and stepping at strange angles, we walked
round a corner; left at a lamppost another world awaits.
bathing itself in winter light, snow draws the glance across
as much as into it, leading feet to wade through winter white, immediate and wet,
and trudge back through icy canyons stacked astride the walk
