Many of you have gotten an email or two from me about this project, but for those of you who haven’t, check out El-Rihla, the film my friend Dora is writing and directing.

Part memoir and part microhistory, the film is about a little-discussed chapter of the Algerian War of Independence and draws on an amazing range of interviews & archival work from both sides of the war. And it’s all set to a soundtrack created by the amazing Huda Asfour. Check out the trailer and, if you can, consider giving even just a little (Dora is crowdfunding the film, no easy task – and it’s a film that deserves to be made!). Seriously, the trailer alone will give you chills.
