amman in winter: the rare snowy day

Winter is definitely upon us here in Jordan – and has been for a while – but two solid days of snowfall took most of us by surprise.

    1. A good point: Zaatari refugee camp in the north of Jordan is a miserable place right now. Snow, flooding, mud, and regular winter cold have set in and there are reports of serious unrest in recent days. Reports place the number of people there at 50,000 and at least half are children.

Anyone interested in donating to assist Syrian refugees can give to the UN’s refugee agency here.
